Collaborators

The Schell lab and PI are enthusiastic to connect with local communities and global audiences to share our love of urban ecology, human-wildlife interactions, and social-ecological applications. As experienced storytellers and narrators, we are keen on working across spaces - from interviews and documentaries, to guest seminars and community engagement opportunities. Below are a few specific items where we can pinpoint areas of collaboration, and feel free to schedule time with the PI below with the associated Calendly link.

Note: if you would like to get connected with specific folks in the lab, please visit our About page.

  • We have MANY urban wildlife projects where we work with residents and private landowners to deploy wildlife cameras in our backyards to understand behavior, cognition, and community. If you would like to be a partner in the projects you’ve seen here, reach out!

  • The Schell Lab and PI have copious experiences communicating their science through radio, social media, and film. We are always interested in working with film makers, videographers, and artists in creating compelling and unique projects that document urban wildlife across California.

  • The lab and PI have many ongoing research projects that we are happy to share. Our exciting constellation of scientists are always excited to talk shop.

  • We strongly believe in community-engaged scholarship, informal education opportunities, and giving back to our communities of practice. Please contact us if you would like to learn about how we do scientific outreach.

  • Are you an undergraduate student interested in urban ecology? Looking for open graduate student, research internships, and postdoctoral opportunities? Great! For any and all opportunities, visit our News tab, as we will iteratively add opportunities as they become available.*

*I will not be accepting new graduate students or postdocs for the 2024/25 academic year.
